Doctor's Appointment 1.5 is out, free, with a new mode for three players online. It's an open beta: it works, we've tested it a lot, but it has never been played by this many people at once. That's where you come in.

One of you is the doctor.
Dr. Halbach sits at his monitors. Before every room he gets a hand of cards and picks what will be wrong in it. Or nothing, which is sometimes the cruelest card. Some cards can be held back and switched on later, when they're looking the other way. He can talk over the clinic's speakers, record a sound and set off the room's scare himself.

Two of you are the patients.
Two journalists walk into the clinic after hours. Martha has ticket number 10. Edward has a camcorder, with zoom and night vision for when the lights go out. Find what's wrong, agree on a door, and go through it together. Ten rooms right and you're out. Three mistakes between you and the doctor has you.

He can hear you.
There's voice chat built in, and the doctor listens through the cameras' microphones. If you want to plan something, find a corner the cameras don't see.

Three rounds, and everyone gets a turn in the chair.
How to play
- Quick match finds two other players for you.
- Play with friends: one creates a room and shares the 5-letter code.
- Practice against a computer doctor if you want to learn the cards first.
- On the same network you can also connect by IP.
Also new: doctor and journalist careers with cards to unlock, co-op achievements, a leaderboard (only if you type a name), and an opening where each player sees their own side of the story.

It's a beta, so tell us everything. Bugs, rooms that felt unfair, cards that are too strong, the connection dropping, a mic that doesn't work. Leave a comment on itch.io or use the feedback form. If you stream or record it, send us the link, we watch every one.
The single-player game is all still there, with a few improvements of its own (see below). Windows, macOS and Linux, on our download page or on itch.io.
See you in the waiting room. Bring two people you trust.
Everything new in 1.5
Co-Op (3 players, online or LAN)
- A new mode for exactly three players: one doctor and two journalists, three rounds, and the doctor's chair moves on each round so everyone plays him once. Choose who starts as the doctor in the lobby, and play one match or a best of 3 or 5.
- Two playable journalists: Martha carries ticket number 10. Edward carries a camcorder with a viewfinder, zoom, a battery and night vision for the second act.
- An opening scene for each side: the two journalists arrive at the clinic in first person while the doctor switches his monitors on and calls number 10.
- The doctor's desk: four CCTV cameras plus the journalists' own eyes. Before every room you get a hand of cards (subtle, medium, obvious, jump scares, or a clean room) and spend a dose to play them.
- Held cards: start a room normal and switch the anomaly on later, when they look away. If you don't, it switches on by itself after a few seconds.
- The doctor's other tools: speak over the clinic's speakers once a room, record a sound for the room's scare and set it off yourself, three lures (a cough, the building, the corridor), and a stalker you can walk.
- Jump scares are shared: when one journalist gets one, all three players see it happen to them.
- The rule for the journalists: both have to go through the same door. Something wrong: EXIT. All normal: EXAM ROOM. The team has three lives, and a wrong room sends you back to room 10.
- The journalists' bag: tool cards for finding anomalies, for working against the doctor, and for taking risks (keys 1 2 3).
- A co-op-only room: the staff door. Pick fast.
- Voice chat: open mic, push-to-talk or off, with your choice of microphone, a sensitivity setting, a voice volume and a mic test (Options). The doctor hears the journalists through the nearest camera's microphone, and a red light shows which camera he's watching. Text chat in the lobby and in the match.
- Ways to play: quick match (matchmaking), a room with a 5-letter code for friends, direct IP on the same network, or practice as Martha against a computer doctor. No ports to open. There's a hide-code option for streamers.
- After each round: a reveal of every room (what was wrong, what you picked) and a CCTV replay of the best scare.
- Progress: separate doctor and journalist careers with 12 levels each, cards you unlock (face down until you do), a deck editor for the doctor, looks for the journalists, and a career screen.
- 15 co-op achievements and an opt-in online leaderboard (you only appear if you type a name).
For everyone
- 14 single-player achievements and an Achievements screen on the title menu.
- A Special thanks section in the credits.
- Smoother walking: less up-and-down when you walk.
- Hands and wrists look more natural when you hold the ticket.
- The volume slider no longer moves when you scroll over the Options menu. This could silently mute the game.
- Macs: fixed freezes on Intel Macs with AMD graphics, and 3D now renders at a lower resolution on Retina screens for a steadier frame rate.
- Version 1.5 on Windows, macOS and Linux. Everyone in a co-op match needs the same version.
